Shake off fear and move!

Have you ever been in a situation where fear literally paralyzed your body and prevented you from making your next move? Have you ever seen a mouse run across the room and you instantly jumped on top of a chair screaming as if the mouse can cause you serious injury? Have you ever encountered a time in your life where you had to make a decision on a new job, or new place to live and you were so scared of change that you didn’t make the move? Have you ever been in a life threatening situation, where someone was trying to kill you? Hopefully nothing that traumatic! The point is in these times of fear, uncertainty and danger, fear quickly makes an appearance! Fear can paralyze you from making your next move! Fear can influence you to make the wrong move! Fear can prevent you from growing with the Lord! Fear can detour you from the path the Lord has set out for you to go! Fear can stop all movement in your life! It’s time to shake off fear and make that move!

The word of God says so much about Fear, but many of us have chosen fear over faith! Sadly many of us have chosen to fear what we hear. Fear a virus or disease! Fear the government or those in authority. Fear of war. Fear of survival. Fear of not being good enough to your own set standards. Fear of not being successful. Fear of rejection. Fear of not being loved. Fear of being alone!

The world we live in pushes fear as if it is candy to a child who finds themselves addicted to the taste. Yes I said it! We live in a world where many people love the taste of fear! They love a scary movie or haunted houses. Why… is the question? Fear is defined as, “an unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat.” So if fear is an emotion that we feel or a belief that something is dangerous, why would some even pay money to experience fear? I truly believe that the “world '', the culture we live in, makes painful, threatening, demonic, dark things seem appealing, desirable. As if we purposely want to feel pain and fear. If we are comfortable in the feeling or belief of fear then why would we not live in Fear!  Why would we choose Faith over Fear?

The Apostle Paul states in Romans 12:2,

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

You cannot continue to choose to live in FEAR! You cannot continue to conform to the pattern of this world. You have to choose to break free from those anxious thoughts. You have to choose to believe what you cannot see! You must choose Faith! You must renew your mind and take every thought captive, surrendering them to the Lord, to his word and to his Holy Spirit! You must take action! You cannot allow fear to keep you paralyzed, immovable, stuck! If we continue to live in a world of fear, anxiety will continue to run rampant in the younger generations. We have to put an end to the generational curse of fear and anxiety in our homes and our families. You can no longer allow fear to stunt your spiritual growth! God has so much more for you but you need to MOVE! You need to break FREE from the restraints, from the worrying, from the stress, from the anxiety!

Take this action NOW!

“I sought the Lord, and he answered me and delivered me from all my fears.” Psalm 34:4

We must push through it! Yes, I know it can be painful. It can be uncomfortable and the least desirable. Facing your abuser, revealing lies, mending broken relationships, trusting after betrayal. This is why we need the Holy Spirit! This is why Faith triumphs Fear. If we can trust the Lord in any situation with everything, your Faith will triumph over your Fear!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” – Joshua 1:9

He is with you everywhere you go! To that new job, new position, new responsibility, new relationship, new marriage, new child, new church, new stage in your life! He is with you through it all.

I am currently in a very uncomfortable situation myself. A situation where there isn't certainty. A life transition where I have no control over the outcome. My heart hurts and my mind wanders with anxious thoughts. Fear tries to steal my hope! Fear tries to deceive me into seeing and believing something that does not align with the word of God! Fear you have no hold of me! I will not believe your lies and your deception! I choose to walk this transition blindly because I know I can trust what I do not see! He knows the plans and purpose for my life! I wholeheartedly believe God is with me, He loves me and his Spirit will guide me, protect me and provide for me! You must believe this too!

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” – Romans 8:38-39

This Fear can be a spirit that blinds us from seeing and believing his truth over our lives! He may have called you to a specific purpose in life. You may have trouble believing or seeing yourself fulfill what God may have called you to do…but do not trust what you see! Choose Faith over Faith and move! Move to where he is calling you too! Move out of the comfort zone you are currently in and take that step of Faith! Move into his presence and out from the noise! Move with assurance that God will lead you! Move with believing he will provide all that you need!

After Moses passed away, God appointed Joshua to continue what had been previously assigned to Moses.

“Moses, my servant is dead. Now therefore ARISE, GO over this Jordan, you and all this people, into the land that I am giving to them, to the people of Israel.” Joshua 1:2

Arise! Go! Action words! Many times throughout the book of Joshua, the Lord constantly reminds Joshua to be strong, be courageous, and do not be afraid! It's like God knew that Joshua would have to push through his fear! If Joshua would have allowed his Fear over his Faith, he would have prolonged the journey even more or not even arrived to that promised land! We must move! We must push through fear! We must trust the Lord and the process. We must be strong! We must be courageous!

“No man shall be able to stand before you all the days of your life. Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you or forsake you. Be strong and courageous, for you shall cause this people to inherit the land that I swore to their fathers to give them. Only be strong and very courageous, being careful to do according to all the law that Moses my servant commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may have good success wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:5-7

God I pray that if any of us are in a stage of paralyzing fear, not able to move, not able to Go as you commanded because of Fear, Lord I command it to leave in the name of Jesus! God, I pray that Fear will no longer have hold of our thoughts and actions. God, I pray that Fear will be dead and Faith will ARISE in Jesus name! I pray we trust the process, we trust the path you lead and that you provide and protect us along the way, in your precious holy name, Amen!

Seek the lord if you are not sure what that MOVE is! If you have been stagnant in your walk with God, MOVE, start to pray, worship, praise, sit in his presence do not continue to be restrained due to fear!
